Rodchenko&Popova

This post is inspired by the great exhibition of the russian Constructivism artists Rodchenko&Popova that I saw some days ago in the Reina Sofia Museum.

Apart from her paintings Popova also made textile designs, which I just admire!! I'd make fabrics like these by my own if I could...

5x5=25 was an abstract art exhibition of 5 constructivism artists (Rodchenko&Popova were two of them) that was held in september 1921 and should manifest the "end of art". The 25 catalogues for it have been hand-drawn by the artists.

An example for the influence on todays design:

ELEY KISHIMOTO: her Sping /Summer 2010 collection is awsome,I love the prints, the colours, the styling...everything! I only posted my favorite looks, but the whole collection is just amazing! Apart she has lots of other interesting design projects such as a small EASTPAK collection, helmets for the brand RUBY, a shoe for Nike etc etc. For me definitely a designer to keep an eye on!
